About "The breath of the glacier"

About the artwork

Before you unfolds the mysterious landscape of Fjallsárlón, a glacial lake in southern Iceland. The calm water reflects the icy wall of the glacier that rises imposingly and unassailable out of the mist. Behind this frozen front, the contours of mountains loom vaguely, like shadows adding depth and layering to the scene.

The inspiration for this work came during an adventurous boat trip on the lake. I wanted to capture the power and silence of this landscape: a place where nature and time seem to stand still, but where you simultaneously feel the uninterrupted movement and changeability of the ice.

The atmosphere is serene, almost mystical. The gentle interplay of mist and ice evokes a sense of humility and wonder, as if, as a viewer, you are witnessing something timeless and unearthly.

With this work, I want to convey the message that nature always transcends us: it is both fragile and powerful, reminding us of the value of silence and respect.

In an interior, this image brings tranquillity and grandeur at the same time. Its cool palette and layered composition make it an eye-catcher that gives every room a sense of space, depth and calm.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
