Santa Maddalena also called St Magdalena in German is a well-known and beautiful picturesque village in the Val di Funes in the province of Bolzano in South Tyrol (Alto Adige) in Italy. Santa Maddalena is a small picturesque village and surrounded by the impressive peaks of the Dolomites, especially the Odle Mountains or Geisler Group in the background with its sharp and pointed peaks. The village is also known for its viticulture. and the village itself is home to the symbolic Santa Maddalena Church, which is often depicted on postcards and is considered an icon of the Dolomites. It is a beautiful sight with the church perched on the hill against the backdrop of the rugged mountains. The valley is known for its miles of forests, velvety green slopes and steep rock faces. It is a true paradise for hikers and nature lovers. It is close to the Puez-Odle Nature Park, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. I took the photo in autumn with a photo tour walk.
