A beautiful passageway through an old building.
What I love about this tunnel is the lines of the stone walls, the stripe pattern of the wooden boards of the ceiling and the horizontal lines of the steps of the stairs. This is a beautiful set of lines and stripes in all sorts of directions.
The stone wall with the horizontal stripes draws you right into the tunnel. There is depth in the photograph.
On the floor of this tunnel is sand. Many people have walked over this. Especially since this tunnel is already old. It is in fact a bunker from the 2nd World War. A piece of history with a story. When you walk through this corridor you constantly wonder what happened here and who walked here.
But fortunately there is light at the end of the tunnel. After all the bad things that have happened, there is hope for better times.
The sand at the bottom is dune sand. In fact, this bunker is located on the coast of the Netherlands in the dunes near the sea.
It is a special contrast between the present in the form of footsteps in the dune sand and the walls, stairs and ceiling from the past.
Gave the photo an old vintage color and put it in HDR for a dramatic and special effect.
Location: the point near Ouddorp, Goeree Overflakkee, Netherlands.
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
