Near the city of Arnhem stands Rosendael Castle, first mentioned in 1314. In the castle garden are the famous shell gallery, the Bedriegertjes, ponds and fountains and a beautiful stone tearoom. This tea dome dates from the early 18th century (1725). Inside, it is beautifully furnished with artful porcelain fountains, Japanese porcelain statues and armchairs upholstered in red silk. As mentioned, the tea dome is set in a magnificent fairy-tale setting.
To emphasise this atmosphere, I decided not to take an ordinary photo of this entourage, but an infrared shot: the foliage of the trees is rendered as white by a special filter in the photo camera, making it look like the subject is in a snowy landscape. Nothing could be further from the truth, however: the photo was taken during the summer months. If you were to compare it with a normal colour photo, you would immediately notice with this infrared photo you have something very special hanging on the wall.
