"The thistle: soft but excitable... the flower central"
is a macro photo of a flower of a thistle.
Because this thistle lies on a separate background, the thistle reflects in it in a painterly and "abstract" way. This creates a beautiful effect, ensuring that actually most of the surface of the work is filled with the thistle (or its mirror image). A natural image, with an abstract representation alongside the "realistic" one.
The main colours in this work are: white, grey, green, blue/blue-grey and white/cream.
I chose the title because I think the flowers of the thistle have something very sweet and soft, but the leaves, on the other hand, are very prickly. If you zoom in on the photo you can see this. In this photo, the emphasis is on the flower.
This work could, for example, beautifully hang as wall decoration in the waiting room, bedroom, hallway or simply above the couch in the living room! Also beautiful on the wall in a meeting room (business).
