"The tulip opens its petals: It's spring" is a photo of a tulip whose petals are opening. When taking this picture, I was looking for an image that for me we clearly "Tulip" radiates,
The colours and composition make it a calm simple looking picture, to my mind.
Because I picked this tulip in a picking garden in North Holland, I cleaned the tulip well and waited until the leaves opened up a bit more. This allows the light to fall more beautifully through the leaves, which is especially nice to see on the front leaf. If you zoom in on the photo, you can clearly see how rich the detail is.
Because of the depth of field I chose in this photo, the front part is sharp and the further back you go, the fainter the tulip becomes. This gives a sense of depth to the photo while also creating a sense of calm.
This photo could, for example, hang beautifully as a wall decoration in the hall, bedroom, dining room or just above the sofa in the living room!
