The View of Dordrecht (1869 ) by Johan Barthold Jongkind (1819-1891). View of the New Harbour and the Great Church of Dordrecht. On the left in the harbour a large two-master. Central to the scene is the view of the Grote Kerk. On the right, the quay of the Nieuwe Haven with a rowing boat in the foreground. Claude Monet said Jongkind had taught him to look: 'He took care of the education of my eye' and Eduard Manet called him 'the father of the modern landscape'.
