Nachi Taisa is part of the pilgrimage route in the Kii Mountains, which is on the Unesco World Heritage List. People have been coming here for over 1,000 years because the area is said to have magical powers. They also come here to ask forgiveness for their sins or crimes. The temple is a red pagoda with three floors. You can climb it to have a nice view over the sanctuary and the waterfall. Here you will also find the Nachi waterfall, which at 133 meters high is the highest waterfall in Japan.
