"Three thistle bulbs: In different stages of life" is a macro photo of three beautiful thistle bulbs from the garden. These that thistle bulbs differ not only in size. The stages the bulbs are in are also different. The largest bulb is in full bloom. If you zoom in on the photo, this is easy to see. Graceful lines of petals decorate this blue bulb. The middle bulb is in bloom only at a small part of the top. The underside is still "prickly". It looks as if this bulb is wearing some kind of wig.
The last, small bulb is still closed and looks "prickly". These three different phases and the difference in size make it look like a family.
The simplicity and repetition of colour and shape give this picture a calm and simple look. This work could therefore hang beautifully in, for example, a bedroom, dining room, waiting room or living room!
