Close-up of the 65-metre high spire of the Grote or Sint-Laurenskerk church on the Grotekerkplein in the centre of the Dutch city of Rotterdam. The tower was completed in 1525 and has been raised twice since then. After the devastation of the Second World War, the church, often called Laurenskerk for short, is in fact the only remnant of the medieval city centre of Rotterdam.
