This abstract photographic work, titled "Impermanence of the Everyday," is a personal favourite of mine. As a photographer, I have always been fascinated by the hidden beauty in everyday objects. The weathered textures and subtle colours of the objects in this image contrast beautifully with the rough, grey background, evoking a sense of melancholy and transience.
My inspiration for this work came from my walks through urban and rural areas. I was often struck by the stories old, used objects can tell. "I wanted to show the viewer that even the most mundane and forgotten objects have a story to tell,"I often tell. "The traces of use and decay give these objects a soul and a history that is often overlooked,"
This work evokes an atmosphere of nostalgia and introspection, similar to the style of wabi-sabi, a Japanese aesthetic that celebrates the beauty of imperfection and impermanence. Artists like Wolfgang Tillmans and Stephen Shore, known for their ability to capture the everyday in a profound way, are a great source of inspiration for me.
What makes this work so special is how it invites the viewer to dwell on the beauty of the everyday and the ephemeral. This artwork on the wall will not only be a visually appealing addition, but also a source of ongoing reflection and appreciation for the beauty in the everyday
