A tribute to Charles Eames (1907-1978) he was an American designer, architect and film director. Together with his second wife Ray, he is responsible for many classic designs from the 20th century such as the Lounge Chair, Aluminium Chair and Plastic Chair. The duo played a prominent role in the modernization of the United States in the years following the war. The Wire Chair pictured is a welded steel wire design created by Charles and Ray Eames in 1951 as a variation on the theme of the organically shaped one-piece seat shell. The duo also created beautiful works of art, of which the Eames house bird (pictured on the chair) is the best known.
