A tribute to Karel Appel (1921-2006) he was a Dutch painter and sculptor of modern art from the second half of the twentieth century, who can be counted among the expressionists. He developed his own style, independent of others. He broke through with his membership of the Cobra group. He spent a long time looking at the canvas, but once he started painting, he found it almost impossible to keep up with his impulses to apply paint. He gave the impression of working like a man possessed, although he took a lot of time to mix the paint into the right colour.
