About ‘Tribute to Kees van Dongen’ by Harry Hadders Design
Cornelis Theodorus Maria (Kees) van Dongen (1877-1968) was a Dutch painter who lived in France for much of his life. He was one of the most important Fauvists after Henri Matisse, characterised by primitive-looking forms and bright, unmixed colours. He was especially known for his sensual slender female portraits.
