Twickel Estate

by Photo Wall Decoration

For me, Twickel Estate is a place where nature and peace come together. Hidden in the woods of Twente, along the Twickelervaart canal, a few characteristic curved trees stand gracefully bending over the water. Especially in autumn, when the leaves turn colour and the ground is covered with warm shades, an almost fairy-tale scene is created.

That morning I had gone out early, looking for that soft, first light of the day. The morning light gives just that extra bit of atmosphere, subtle, warm and full of depth. While the mist still hung slightly above the water, I found exactly the moment when everything came together: composition, colour and stillness.

At home, the second part of the process then begins. Behind my computer, I take my time to carefully edit the shot. I pay attention to the right tones, the contrast and the balance between light and shadow. My aim is always to create an image that shows not only the place, but also the feeling I had there. A photograph that breathes atmosphere and, when hung on your wall, evokes that same moment every day.

For me, this shot of Twickel is an ode to autumn, to morning light, and to the power of stillness in nature.
