Page, Arizona remains a magical place. A few years ago, I visited Upper Antelope Canyon, where I captured a classic that you can see here

can view here. This time, I trekked through the Lower Canyon with my camera, an experience that again made a deep impression.
Armed with a Sony full-frame camera and a 12mm wide-angle lens, I decided to shoot everything handheld. No tripod, purely intuitive work. Because of the strong contrast between light and shadow, I opted for bracketing: multiple exposures of the same subject, to show off the rich nuances of the rock.
What makes this place so special are the organic shapes the rocks take on. Sometimes you can see figures in them, like here, where I think I recognize a seahorse in the wavy lines of the sandstone. The colors are intense: warm shades of rusty brown, orange, red and soft purple alternate and are subtly lit up by the incident sunlight.
People often ask me, "Which canyon is more beautiful?" Having visited both, I can say, they are different but equally impressive. Each canyon has its own character, rhythm and play of light. Whichever one you choose, you get a unique experience and a visual spectacle that lingers.
This photo is my interpretation of that moment, a combination of technique, emotion and wonder. Maybe it touches you in the same way.
