The Twiskemolen is an eight-sided reed-covered ground-sailer between Landsmeer and Oostzaan (where the border between these villages runs through the middle of the windmill) in the recreational area Het Twiske. He has a flight of 24.00 meters. The windmill was erected here in 1974, after it had initially stood in Barsingerhorn for the drainage of the Hooglandspolder. The beard therefore shows the years 1572 and 1974, although the mill in Barsingerhorn was already known from 1525. The mill was purchased to drain the Polder Oostzaan.
On 18 October 2016, a small tornado hit the stationary mill, destroyed the cap and broke the upper shaft, causing the blade cross to fall down. Also the heavy, wooden windbreak was blown 100 meters away. In 2017-2018 the roof has been restored and new rods have been put in. In the meantime it is possible to grind on wind power again.
