U.S. Air Force McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle.
Registration: 81-0051.
Tail code: ZZ
The F-15 was designed when the US Air Force was looking for a successor to the F-4 Phantom II.
The first test flight of an F-15A took place in July 1972 and a year later the first two-seat version flew.
The single-seat F-15C and the two-seat F-15D were introduced to the U.S. Air Force from 1979. These models were fitted with a series of improvements under the Production Eagle Package (PEP 2000) programme where, among other things, the aircraft received an increased fuel capacity so that more weapons could be carried during a mission.
