About ‘Ugh How’ by WILBERT HEIJKOOP photography

As an opportunistic hunter, the eagle owl is as surprising to its investigators as it is to its prey. The eagle owl ambushes crows, birds of prey and owls at their roosts, after first observing them for some time from a covered vantage point. The eagle owl can sit quietly for hours 'roosting' on a lookout until a large prey comes crawling along. In a diving flight, the owl will then usually grab the prey by the neck skin to strip it of feathers and skin at the plucking site. Hedgehogs are skillfully stripped of their prickly coat; the eagle owl "peels" hedgehogs from their skin using a still unknown technique. Because of its long claw nails, the hedgehog's prickly coat hardly harms the eagle owl. The eagle owl is even capable of hitting young foxes and dragging them to the picking place while flying. In lean times the eagle owl can also live on carrion for a long time. There seems to be a clear preference for cervids, such as red deer and roe deer.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
