About "Underground"

About the artwork

Underground is an imaginative work with endless details that you will never tire of. This underground world goes down seven layers. In each subsequent layer, a new adventure can be discovered. In the middle of the work, a black bird lies relaxed in its nest. We see its bare bottom, but it looks at the beautiful view of infinite light blue. The work can be called fairytale-like and surreal. Shapes regularly flow into each other. Even in the smallest details, there is still a detail or drawing hidden and that is why you keep making new discoveries. With this work, you can daydream endlessly and continue to enjoy.
In Turkey, I once visited an underground church, an incredibly beautiful building with many floors, carved into the rocks. The early Christian community had to hide underground to avoid being murdered. It is impressive how man renews himself again and again, even if he has to go underground to do so, against the current of general views. This work is a tribute to resistance, innovation and creativity. Are you sometimes stuck in old patterns, walk through these caves in your mind and be inspired by new solutions and creative ideas.
The work is made on paper 50 by 65 cm with ecoline, markers and colored pencils. It is suitable for enlarging to make all the details even better.
