About "Vegetable portrait in black"

About the artwork

I wanted to capture the absolute freshness of this motif. The slender stems of the wild broccoli lie on a deep black background that makes the bright green literally shine - almost like emeralds in the dark. If you look closely, you will recognise the fine drops of water on the background and the florets.

For me, water symbolises life and purity. I was inspired by the moment during cooking when you have just washed the vegetables and the colours are at their most intense due to the moisture. I wanted to capture this brief moment of preparation before the cooking begins. The black background doesn't distract the eye; the focus is 100% on the structure of the plant.

The mood of this picture is very modern, clear and elegant. It does without anything superfluous.

In interior design, this picture is particularly effective in very modern, minimalist kitchens (e.g. high-gloss white or concrete look). The strong contrast between black and green looks very design-orientated and elegant. It shows: Fresh ingredients are used for cooking here and quality is valued.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
