Vernazza is one of 5 villages of the Cinque Terre,, these five colourful villages can be found along the Italian coast close to La Spezia in Liguria a region in Italy.
Other villages of the Cinque Terre are: Monterosso, Corniglia, Rio Maggiore and Manarola. Each one is a little gem where you go back in time. These typically Italian villages are a feast for the eyes.
The Cinque Terre are located in the Cinque Terre National Park of the same name. a popular tourist region in Italy. Not all the villages can be reached by car but there is a good train service that stops at all of them.
The best way to explore the colourful villages of the Cinque Terre is on foot, along the beautiful coastal path, or by train. You can also take a boat trip there.
We started our walk in Monterosso from where you can walk along the coastal path to Vernazza. Along the way, you have this beautiful view of Vernazza.
Vernazza has less than 1,100 inhabitants and is considered the most picturesque of the five. The village has a small fishing port, a few beaches and narrow cobbled streets with colourful houses. What a picture!
