Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘Visions Behind Closed Eyes’ by Retrotimes

“Visions Behind Closed Eyes” is a mesmerising and intriguing work of art that explores the boundary between inner experience and external reality. In the centre, we see a woman with her eyes closed, her face framed by her hands, as if she is surrendering to a deep, introspective experience. Colourful, bioluminescent mushrooms appear to be growing from her eyelids—a surreal and powerful symbol of imagination, consciousness and transformation.

The vibrant neon colours and flowing lines of light winding through the image create a dynamic energy that contrasts with the calm of the face. This visual flow suggests thoughts, dreams or perhaps even hallucinations making their way to the surface. The work raises questions about perception: what do we actually see, and what arises in our minds?

The combination of realistic portrait details and imaginative elements makes this piece both accessible and mysterious. It invites the viewer to reflect on the power of the imagination and the richness of the inner landscape. The mushrooms here act as a bridge between nature and the psyche, between growth and insight.

Perfect for lovers of modern, surrealist art and visual storytelling. “Visions Behind Closed Eyes” brings a powerful, almost dreamlike atmosphere to any space and continues to fascinate, no matter how often you look at it.
