An abandoned and dilapidated old farmhouse in the scenic surroundings of the Granada region of Gojar. On the edge of Barranco de Hondo lies this past glory, once centre of daily diligent labour, of a proud Spanish farming family where year-round production came from the land, one had a livestock, where there was much activity, the sound of working people, mooing cows, of seasonal labour.
What we hear now is the crunch of the gravel under our shoe soles with every step we take, the birds in the sides of the road vying for their territory in spring, the sighs of the winds sweeping across the sparse unworked landscape. We feel our hearts pounding from the ever-rising road, so close to the Sierra Nevada. Time passes, the landscape slowly passes us by until we come to a point to go back, the same road, the sun a little lower again, the same landscape from a different perspective. It never gets boring, walking quietly together in the great outdoors and catching beautiful images to look back at later, at home and recall those beautiful moments.
