About ‘Whispers of Autumn’ by SR Blaauw

This work captures not so much a forest as a feeling. The soft shades of green, yellow and grey blend into one another, evoking the memory of a walk through an autumnal landscape. Amidst the vertical movements, subtle shapes of leaves and branches are visible, as if the forest were slowly dissolving into light and colour.

The photograph was created through a creative camera movement whilst taking the shot. By not keeping the lens still, trees, leaves and light are transformed into a painterly interplay of lines and texture. It is precisely this technique that makes the image special: it strikes a balance between photography and abstract art. What at first appears chaotic turns out, upon closer inspection, to be full of rhythm and nuance.

For me, this work symbolises the transience of the seasons. Autumn shows that change does not signify an end, but a transition to something new. I wanted to capture that tranquillity and softness in this image.

The subdued colours and organic forms make this piece suitable for a wide range of interiors. It brings a natural and serene atmosphere to a room without being overly prominent. Up close, you continually discover new details, whilst from a distance the piece forms a harmonious colour composition.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
