Dandelion puffballs bring back fond childhood memories. To this day they remind me of all the dreams and hopes I made blowing the dandelion puffballs into the wind. The little parachutes would go off to thier journey and each representing a wish. A child has no limids on those and I was no different. I love the details and contrast in the dandelion flower. It's transformation from bright yellow flowers to delicate white puffballs. Much of the intrecate parts of the dandelion goes unnotived. Dandelion's are an edible plant. Every single part of the plant can be consumed. The spring blossoms make wonderful dandelion wine, the leaves salads and greens as well as teas. Dandelions are the fist and last food of our beneficial insects especially honey bees. Taraxacum is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, which consists of species commonly known as dandelions. They are native to Eurasia and North America, but the two commonplace species worldwide, T. officinale and T. erythrospermum, were introduced from Europe and now propagate as wildflowers.
The view of this photograph is at a birds eye level. This gives the viewer the feeling that they are looking directly upon the dandelion puffball.
The atmosphere of this dandelion floral macro is airy and light with the delicate focus on its tiny dandelion parachutes.
Macro photography allows me to get close and intimate with my subject matter. It shows the beauty easily overlooked due to our busy lifestyles. My artwork gives the viewer a sense of calm, peace, and relaxation.
