The White House is the name of a building in Rotterdam that for a while has been the tallest office building in Europe. In 1940 it was one of the few buildings in the city centre that survived the bombardment of Rotterdam. In the 1990s it was restored as much as possible to its original state (facades and roof). It was the first skyscraper in Rotterdam and is also considered by some to be the first skyscraper in Europe.
The Art Nouveau-style White House is a total of 43 metres high. On the flat roof there is a viewing platform, accessible by elevator, something that was very modern in those days.
