This impressive coastal formation was found on the coast of Madeira. It was very difficult to photograph here because the turbulent water, which looks so tame here in the picture, together with the strong wind, repeatedly caused a lot of spray. Balancing on the sharp rocks, which were also slippery from the algae growth, also required full concentration to avoid damage to people and equipment. There were also many "Portuguese man o' wars" in the water that day, a type of jellyfish that carries a very strong nettle venom, so the mere sight of it caused increased attention. All in all, not a comfort zone, but despite everything, taking photos in this unique natural environment was a lot of fun!
The picture here was taken as a long exposure to tame the wild water and at the same time focus on the bizarrely shaped rocks on the beach.
