On a rainy day in April, we head east on the North Holland island of Texel. Our drive takes us to Het Noorden in Oosterend. A polder mill, built in 1878 and owned by Natuurmonumenten. When the northeastern areas of Texel were reclaimed, a large mill was needed to drain the area in 1878.
To me, this mill exudes strength and fortitude, despite the fact that conditions are not ideal.
It was another grey day in which we were faced with another lot of rain. As I saw and photographed this landscape, it made me feel that we would also overcome our problems at home caused by the abundant rain of the past six months.
