A view of a canal boat station in Harbin, China.
I made this image near the Songhua River, in the centre of Harbin. A large city in northeast China, with a population of five million.
At the time of this image, it was the middle of winter, with an average temperature of -25. The river was completely frozen and these boats were deserted, waiting for the beautiful summer weather.
Despite the winter temperatures, it is a beautifully colourful image. Both the boathouse and tour boats, are decorated is different bright colours that jump out the picture. The front of these two boats, represents a Phoenix.
