Winter is coming by AnkieArt

Digitally painted and drawn work depicting a minimalist winter landscape with threatening cloudy skies, where the first snowflakes are falling onto the barren mountain landscape.

It creates a beautifully serene yet captivating image which, in my opinion, you could gaze at longingly for hours, imagining yourself in the Alps, from behind the protective glass of your mountain hut.

It is a line drawing executed quickly and intuitively, to be filled in afterwards with (digital) watercolour.

The details in the form of the birds and the little trees in the distance complete the picture.

I really love the transparency of watercolour. By mixing the paint with more or less water, different translucent forms emerge. The pigmentation is lighter than, for example, oil paint, which appeals more to my imagination.

It is minimalist and sleek, with beautiful greyish, wintry colours. It would work well as an eye-catcher in a minimalist interior, whether Scandinavian or Japandi.

My work is inspired by nature, flowers and plants, all the beauty that Mother Earth bestows upon us. My personal tribute! Let’s cherish all that beauty, and use it with respect and love; nature can manage perfectly well without us, but we cannot manage without nature
