The whitewashed gibbon (Nomascus leucogenys) is a species of the family gibbons (Hylobatidae) and the superfamily of the great apes. White wall gibbons are found in northern Laos and northeastern Vietnam and perhaps in a neighbouring part (Yunnan province) of China. The white hawk gibbon is seriously threatened by hunting and habitat degradation.
