Part three
A long time ago, I once entered a poetry competition. I had a small book in which I made notes, and sometimes a little poem emerged from that. Around 1998, T.D.S. Printing Works ran a poetry competition. Frans Eikenbroek and Peter Bulthuis (both deceased) were the driving forces behind this publication. The booklet disappeared into a box in the attic, but not completely out of my mind.
Last year, I re-read the booklet with a smile and put it on the bookshelf. At the time, I had won a shared first place, but without a prize, for my epigrams. I myself just call them little poems.
Now that I regularly convert words into images, it suddenly occurred to me: what if I translate my poems into images? That should be possible.
The result is this series of works:
