Woman with a glowing compass on a kintsugi rock

by Henk Egbertzen

A tranquil, panoramic scene of a woman standing on a rugged rock, holding a glowing compass in her hands. It is a moment of pure self-reflection.

This work tells a story of identity and life’s purpose. The compass not only points the way, but also radiates an inner fire. The delicate, golden threads running from her heart to the compass symbolise the inseparable connection between who you are and where you want to go.
-
The rock on which she stands is interwoven with golden Kintsugi cracks. This is a powerful symbol of resilience: the foundation may be cracked, but by embracing the fractures, you actually become stronger and more beautiful.
- Surrounded by lush pampas grass and eucalyptus leaves, which represent growth and connection, the whole scene is bathed in a misty, "Early Dew" atmosphere. The wide, expansive background lends the whole a serene, almost spiritual tranquillity. - The texture of the work is richly crafted. The soft, impasto brushstrokes and the muted colour palette of beige, sage green and gold give it a museum-worthy appearance.

Thanks to its panoramic format, this artwork is ideally suited to an executive office, a coaching practice or as a large statement piece above a sofa in a stylish living room. It serves as a daily reminder of inner strength, direction and personal growth.
