This small beetle is about 3 to 4.5 millimeters tall and is a common species in Europe. Unlike the more famous ladybugs, this species does not live of aphids but of a fungal species called mildew. It eats an infamous plant fungus and contributes to its spread. This species mainly occurs along forest edges and woodwalls.
