The Zeelandbrug has connected Schouwen-Duiveland (Zierikzee) and Noord-Beveland (Colijnsplaat) since December 15, 1965. The Zeelandbrug replaced the ferry connection Zierikzee-Kats and is over five kilometers long.
When completed, the bridge was the longest bridge in Europe. That lasted until October 1972, when the 6070 m long Ölandbrug was opened in Sweden.
On that occasion, the National Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) called the bridge "a topper when it comes to infrastructure after reconstruction."The bridge consists of 54 piers with 52 spans of 95 meters between them and a movable section of forty meters.
The road on the bridge consists of several slabs, as you drive across the bridge you hear a characteristic "kedoek kedoek" sound as your tires pass over the connection points of the slabs.

Typical for my photos is the use of color, light and the starburst effect.
