Deventer during the blue hour, a carefully selected spot to photograph Deventer for once. one of the great advantages of Google Earth, you can see when the sun is setting, and from which angle you can photograph best. Here I am standing on one of the groynes close to the old harbour with a view of the new buildings on the river Ijssel. an unexpectedly clear water surface provided a surprising reflection, something I had not dared to dream...so beautiful!
With Deventer and its recognisable silhouettes of the Lebuïnus church and the Wilhelmina arch bridge in the distance, this makes a worthwhile painting on the wall..you want to have one, don't you ????
The predilection for photography starts early anyway, when I was 12 we moved house and I can still remember exploring the area with my father's camera, an agfa clack... and everything in black and white. I still have most of the photos and even then I could see.. Read more…
