On the Normandy coast lies the town of Etretat. The area around Etretat is known for its chalkstone rocks. A famous point on the beach of Etretat is Falaise d'Aval, a 70-metre-high rock arch that protrudes into the sea. This rocky arch can be visited from the beach of Etretat but you can also take a walk to the top of the rock or to the area west of it. Etretat is a very nice place to visit the alabaster coast, as the coast is called here, and to enjoy the limestone rocks and the rocky arches that are abundantly present here.
