The De Heus compound feed factory in Den Bosch dates from 1909. It was built as a flour factory for H. Bruyelle.
The Tilburg architect F.C. de Beer designed the building. The owner sold his factory in 1933 to Meneba, a cooperation of bakers.
In 1948 the flour factory exchanged places with the compound feed factory Koudijs from Rotterdam. De Heus took over Koudijs in 1998. Meanwhile, the factory stopped.
The municipality bought the building and the grounds of De Heus in 2008 for a development into a cultural destination including catering facilities. This is how Het Werkwarenhuis came into existence, the home base of Social label, which offers space for experiment and various events. Het Werkwarenhuis is building the workshop of the future for a new view on labour. Sharing knowledge and creativity together is central to this.
