Monument Valley is one of the better-known places in the U.S. and much photographed because of its unusual rock formations. Yet many tourists come no further than the viewpoint or a lap on the standard route that is freely accessible to everyone. Yet it adds a lot to hire a guide and go off the beaten track in search of all the beauty that this area has to offer. So we left at 05.00 to go deeper into the area and see the sun rise behind the so-called totem pole. Really a special experience to be all alone in the cold morning to enjoy this beauty.
