About ‘the leftovers’ by Karin van Bylevelt

A layered poetic image, double exposure of cow parsley and a reflection of branches in the water. This image was created during my project Leftovers: The project was shown in den Haag during the exhibition at the Atrium. (Dec 22/Jan 23) "My father was offered to the Salvation Army as a six-week-old baby ; his mother, my grandmother, had fallen in love with a German soldier in 1942. In those days, it was a disgrace anyway to get pregnant unmarried let alone from a German soldier. Moreover, my grandmother came from an upper-class family . It was immediately clear that my father was not wanted in that environment My father used to talk a lot about his childhood in the Salvation Army orphanage but he never showed his sadness. And how did his mother feel? She came by every now and then to see how her little son was doing. She had to give up my father because her mother wanted her to.A terrible story ...I went looking. Looking for the feeling of relinquishing and holding. Mother and child. What if that bond is broken? "This image fits any interior

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
