DIGITAL ARTWORKS
This album features my digital mixed-media artworks. Although the final pieces are assembled digitally, every work begins with my own handmade art. I photograph my original paintings—and sometimes just small sections of them, such as a weathered layer of paint, a patch of texture, a block of color, a line, a figure, or an interesting detail. I then use these fragments as building blocks for a new digital composition, combining them with other photographs I have taken and elements from my original paintings. By cropping, enlarging, repositioning, layering, and recombining these images, I create an entirely new work of art. In this way, the digital process serves as an extension of my painting process. The textures, brushstrokes, colors, and imperfections of my original handmade works remain visible in the final composition. It is precisely this combination of painting, photography, and digital editing that allows me to create images I could not produce in the same way on a traditional canvas. My digital artworks can be abstract, figurative, or graphic, and often feature multiple layers, details, textures, and contrasts. Sometimes a fragment from an earlier painting is clearly recognizable, yet it takes on a completely different meaning within the new composition.
