Everywhere in Rivierenland you will find beautiful fruit orchards. About a third of all fruit grown in the Netherlands comes from Rivierenland. That is why this region is also called the fruit garden of the Netherlands!
The Betuwe is located in the middle of the Fruit Garden of the Netherlands. The many fruit trees show their best side in the spring when the blossoms bloom profusely. All those beautiful white and pink blossoms then turn into delicious fresh fruit from June onwards. You can eat delicious cherries in June, there is a variety of red fruit in the summer and you can go for apples and pears from September.
