Three little angels on canvas, poster, wallpaper and ArtFrame by Erik Roger

After my earlier experiments with the small printing press for the Voler project, I further explored the theme of cherubs. This time, I chose to work entirely digitally. The result is a collection of three pieces: Morning Light, Evening Stars, and The Night Shift. While the composition in each piece remains the same, each evokes a distinct atmosphere. Cherubs, those familiar angelic figures, have symbolized love and desire for centuries. Renowned artists such as Raphael, Donatello, and Botticelli have depicted these beings with golden hair, soft skin, and graceful wings. They are often portrayed in playful or serene poses. Influenced by the Roman god Cupid, cherubs are also frequently shown with a bow and arrow, a depiction that has left a lasting impact on how we perceive angels today. The pop-art style of this collection transforms these classical cherubs in a surprising way. With bold black lines, vibrant colors, and a graphic aesthetic, they are given a modern and playful dimension. Despite their classical origins, cherubs retain their role as symbols of lov, but with a contemporary twist.
