Meet visual artist Ingo Laue. Ingo is a photographer with over 30 years of experience. He doesn't do photography for a living anymore because he's already retired. However, that doesn't make him any less passionate about photography. He successfully runs his own shop on Art Heroes.
Ingo got into photography using "large format cameras and pesky Polaroids". He remembers: "Back then, you needed to already know before you developed the photo how the image was going to turn out. These days, it's all become much easier." For Ingo Laue, having his own studio was what made his life as a photographer complete. "Still life photos were my speciality, which of course came in handy with clients, for example those in the jewellery industry." In recent years, the artist has mainly focussed on vintage car photography. And successfully too because his photos of vintage cars have been published across the world.
Ingo Laue is happy that he's now retired and can pursue his passion for photography without any pressure. "You don't lose that photographer's eye," says the artist. "My daily life is now really relaxing. I only take photos when I feel like it. My photographer's eye guides me all day long and I'm thankful for that because I'm convinced I see my environment more intensely than somebody who doesn't take photographs."
