How the commission model works
How can you earn money with your art
Want to sell your art, photography, or designs and earn from it? That’s easy with Art Heroes. You get a free shop to upload and showcase your work. You only pay service fees when you make a sale – so getting started costs nothing.
How is the sales price structured?
The total sales price includes:
1. The base price – Production costs based on material, size, and finish. This is the foundation for your commission.
2. The combined commission – A percentage you set in your dashboard.
It’s split between:
Your commission
Art Heroes' service fee
3. Shipping fee surcharge – Added to the total due to increased costs (varies per product). It’s included in the final price but not shown separately to customers.
📌 Sales price = base price + commission + shipping surcharge (incl. VAT)
💡 Did you know? Our average payout is much higher than most POD platforms – we pay out about 20% of the total price to the creator, while others often stay below 10%.
De customer buys an artwork.
You have a sale and get a sale notification.
The base price depends on the size and material.
On top of the base price your commission is calculated.
The service fees will be deducted from this amount. 15% through your own shop and 30% through the main site.
Your commission is automatically paid out on the 15th of each month.
What affects your earnings?
Three things:
Base price – Varies by product type, size, and finish
Your chosen commission rate – You decide how much you want to earn
Sales channel
Own shop = 15% fee
Main site = 30% fee
The base price is not a fixed amount. We use different base prices for each material, size, and variation.
Payouts happen automatically, no action needed. Your commission is paid by the 15th of the following month. You can view your payout schedule in the “Sales” section of your dashboard.
