Klaas is a maker at heart. His creative journey began with photography, learning to look, catching light and moment.
This was followed by drawing and painting, and later he immersed himself in stained glass, Tiffany and glass fusing.
Always looking for new ways to play with colour, light and material.
In 2002, his artistic work came to a halt.
But in 2023, he returned to making, with renewed inspiration and an open mind.
Since then, his work has been more versatile than ever.
Klaas still works with photography and painting, but also explores techniques such as monoprints (with gellplate, silicone mat and paint), stencil art and street art with spray cans.
His images are direct, layered, sometimes critical, sometimes with a wink.
Klaas is constantly discovering new materials and working methods, without committing to one style.
What unites all his work is curiosity, experimentation and a love of the handmade.
For Klaas, art is not an end point, but a continuous voyage of discovery, a way to keep looking, feeling and making.
