Abandoned chairs on a winter terrace
The discoloured chairs the old brick façade. The abandoned terrace on a wintry day in Zaandam.
The reflections in the windows the old tree and the snow on the tables gives a lonely street scene.
The square frames and square windows a nice contrast to the round chair arms.
With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photos, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
