About "Abandoned structures, enduring stories"

About the artwork

In this picture, we are taken to a place where the heart of industry once beat. The weathered steel structures, with their peeling paint and deeply etched rust spots, tell a story of past glory. What was once a paragon of progress and strength has now been transformed into a silent witness to the past. The lines of pipes and beams intersect in an almost abstract play of shapes, colours and textures. Red-brown rust merges with grey-green oxidation, while the cold steel radiates warmth through the marks of time and use.

My fascination with industrial locations stems from the raw beauty found there. There is something honest in the decay - as if the material no longer tries to hide its history. Every stain, every dent, every screw hole has meaning. They are scars of labour, progress, decay and silence.

This photograph was taken with an eye for detail and composition, where I deliberately chose a tight frame to emphasise the complexity and rhythm of the image. It is not a romanticisation of decay, but rather an ode to the aesthetics of impermanence.
