I have always been attracted to the sea and find it incredibly sad that I don't live closer to the beach.
I have photographed the sea regularly, but as beautiful as it is, I still wanted to turn it into an artwork for the wall. Although it has become an abstract work, everyone can see that it is the sea with clouds.

I've been photographing since the beginning of this century. I am a real autodidact, although I have taken courses and mentorships. I don't try to make the 'standard' picture and am often busy for weeks before the result is as I had in mind.
I would have preferred to have mastered painting, like my great uncle Johan Gabriëlse, but unfortunately I don't have a talent for drawing. With my pictures I try to compensate this a bit.
